Ciba Specialty Chemicals: The new Novel Encapsulated Additives Technology (NEAT) for coatings stabilization enables waterborne coatings to attain a level of protection equivalent to that achieved wth high-performance stabilizers in solventborne systems. Introduced at the European Coatings Show in Nuremberg (May 8-10), the product allows hydrophobic light stabilizers to be incorporated easily in waterborne paints.
The first products launched in the NEAT range are hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) and UV absorbers. HALS and UV absorbers often show synergistic effects that can significantly improve durability, thereby prolonging the service life and reducing maintenance of coatings.
