During its Annual Meeting in late October, the National Paint & Coatings Association (NPCA), Washington, acknowledged its 2006 Safety Award recipients - those association members with outstanding safety records. The purpose of NPCA's Safety Awards Program goes beyond recognizing superior safety performance; it also enables the collection of valuable data. This information on industry safety is useful to member companies in assessing the effectiveness of their safety programs as compared to others in the industry. NPCA operates the program in the hopes that it will provide information that can be utilized by the association and its members to promote industry's commitment to workplace safety with various government agencies.
