Beginning January 1, 2007, Rohm and Haas will move to a single U.S. distributor for its North American Architectural and Functional Coatings business. Chemcentral, headquartered in Bedford Park, IL, will represent Rohm and Haas in the U.S. for the distribution of emulsion products while continuing to be the U.S. representative for Rohm and Haas's Paraloid™ product line. This move represents a renewed strategy for long-term growth in the distribution channel in cooperation with a strategic partner to achieve this goal.

In making the announcement, James Swanson, vice president and general manager of Architectural and Functional Coatings North America, said, "We are pleased to broaden our 10-year plus relationship with Chemcentral. We're excited about the opportunities a singular alliance offers Rohm and Haas with respect to new market opportunities, new product introductions and long-term growth."
