CLEVELAND - The Sherwin-Williams Co. completed the acquisitions of Duron Inc. and Paint Sundry Brands Corp. in separate transactions valued at approximately $625 million, including the assumption of certain financial obligations.

Duron, based in Beltsville, MD, is a major regional coatings manufacturer and retailer serving the professional and do-it-yourself (DIY) markets in the eastern United States, and operates 230 company-owned stores. Sherwin-Williams said Duron stores and manufacturing facilities would continue to supply Duron-brand products.

Paint Sundry Brands is a supplier of paint brushes and applicators sold under the Purdy, Bestt Liebco and other brands. Sherwin-Williams said Paint Sundry Brands will continue to operate under its current management.

Christopher M. Connor, Sherwin-Williams chairman and CEO, said the acquisitions will "assist us in the continued implementation of our growth strategy of supplying high-quality products and services to professional paint contractors and do-it-yourself users through various channels of distribution."
