Ultrafiltration Module

This company has introduced a new 10" diameter KPAK™ ultrafiltration module for the electrocoat industry. The module consists of a spiral-wound membrane element containing 462 ft2 of membrane area, which is double that of the 8" KPAK module. The new 10" design reportedly achieves a higher permeate output relative to the paint feed compared to other spiral membranes. According to the company, the virtually zero bypass design results in lower paint feed flow requirements and, consequently, additional savings in equipment costs because the system uses smaller pumps, less piping and fewer filters.
