BELLEVUE, WA/NORTH CHICAGO, IL – Univar, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, has sold its Mozel packaging business and facility in Columbia, IL, to EMCO Chemical Distributors Inc., North Chicago, IL.
Mozel provides custom packaging and blending of chemical raw materials for the coatings, adhesives, sealants and plastics industries. It became part of the Univar family during the acquisition of Ellis & Everard in 2001.
Univar has integrated Mozel’s distribution business into its industrial chemical business over the past several years. The decision to sell the remaining Mozel packaging business is part of Univar’s strategic decision to focus on its core business of chemical distribution.
EMCO is a contract blending and packaging provider in the United States. The acquisition allows EMCO to expand geographically and strategically combine two separate facilities with contract blending and packaging services to the same industries. Mozel will keep its name under the new ownership.
