WASHINGTON, DC ? The International Paint and Printing Ink Council (IPPIC) will host its 5th Global Marine Coatings Forum April 23-24 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The forum, which provides a unique, interactive environment for exchanging views and gaining new perspectives on the future of the international marine coatings industry, attracts participants from all over the globe. Attendees include marine paint formulators, active ingredient suppliers, ship owner associations, ship builders, research institutes and state maritime authorities.

The 5th Global Marine Coatings Forum keyed to the theme, “Between the Water & the Steel,” will feature presentations on antifouling and corrosion protection coatings, and cover topics including the role and concerns with biocides in marine coatings, robust risk assessment, greenhouse gas reduction, and ballast water treatment. Rotterdam is Europe’s main port and possesses a sizeable number of repair yards. The forum will include a work visit to a shipyard for maritime authorities so that they can better understand the practice of applying coatings to a ship hull.
