Dutch Coatings Maker Joins Siegwerk’s Growth Plans

Siegwerk has signed a contract to purchase Allinova, a specialty chemicals company in Hengelo, Netherlands, as part of its strategy to grow functional packaging coatings. The company said Allinova brings technical strength in water-based dispersions along with a portfolio that includes polymer dispersions, wax emulsions, adhesives, and other specialties such as flame retardants, repellents and crosslinkers.
“Allinova’s solutions fit perfectly into our product portfolio and accelerate our mission to provide innovative and sustainable coating solutions for the global packaging market,” said Gilles Le Moigne, business head of circular economy coatings at Siegwerk. The company added that the deal supports a 2024 reorganization that created a global unit focused on functional coatings for circular packaging.
Following completion, Allinova founders Gijs Elfrink and Bob Horsthuis will remain with the business. Terms were not disclosed.
