ACD Launches New Credential Program

The Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) announced the launch of the Responsible Distribution Accreditation Series, a new professional certificate program designed to deepen industry expertise in Responsible Distribution standards.
The tiered program features three levels: RD Operations Professional (RDOP), available now; RD Operations Specialist (RDOS), launching in 2026; and RD Operations Expert (RDOE), set for 2028. The RDOP certificate is earned through a self-paced course covering Responsible Distribution 2023 fundamentals, the 12 Codes of Management Practice, chemistry basics, and tools for third-party verification success.
“For more than three decades, ACD’s Responsible Distribution has been a trusted, comprehensive set of standards demanding continuous improvement in every phase of chemical distribution,” said Joe Donadoni, ACD senior vice president of development and ASK executive director. “By creating a tiered accreditation series, we can ensure our members demonstrate the highest expertise, stewardship, and professionalism today and beyond.”
The first eight RDOP-certified professionals were recognized at the 2025 ChemEdge Trade Show and Conference. Industry feedback on the program has been positive, with participants citing the course as challenging, informative, and beneficial for professionals at all levels.
This initiative underscores the growing role of training and accreditation in advancing standards across chemical distribution and coatings supply chains.
