Effective July 15, 2008, or as provided by individual contracts, the Functional Products Division of Cognis Corp. is implementing a price increase for its coating additives mineral-oil-based defoamer products. Foamaster, FoamStar A-10 and A-12 will increase by $0.25-$0.30/lb.

 

Effective July 1, 2008, or as provided by individual contracts, Cognis Corp. will increase prices for products made with oleic acid and tall oil fatty acid as follows: Empol TOFA-based distilled and hydrogenated dimers will increase by at least $0.09/lb.; Empol oleic-acid-based dimer acids will increase by at least $0.11/lb.; Emery monomer acids will increase by at least $0.02/lb.; Versamid Liquid polyamide epoxy curatives will increase by at least $0.08/lb.; Versacure and Versamid solvent blends and Genamid curatives will increase by at least $0.07/lb.; Versamid solid thermoplastic surface resins will increase between $0.07-$0.10/lb.; Versamid solid thermoplastic lamination resins will increase between $0.14-$0.16/lb.; and CEX, VCX, and Versamine amines will increase between $0.05-$0.45/lb.

 

Some individual products in the groups outlined above are impacted by multiple cost drivers and may be increased beyond the amount stated.

 

Effective July 15, 2008, or as provided by individual contracts, Cognis Corp. is increasing the price for the entire Photomer® and Bisomer™ range of UV/EB-cure products as follows: Photomer 3000 Series will increase by $0.14/lb.; Photomer 4000 Series will increase by $0.16/lb.; Photomer 5000 Series will increase by $0.16/lb.; Photomer 6000 Series will increase by $0.18/lb.; Photomer 8000 Series will increase by $0.18/lb.; and Bisomer Range will increase by $0.14/lb.
