DKSH Expands Into Scandinavia and India

ZURICH, Switzerland – DKSH, Zurich, Switzerland, has acquired Dasico A/S, Birkerod, Denmark, a specialty chemicals distributor to the Scandinavian countries.

The acquisition will strengthen DKSH’s Performance Materials business unit in northern Europe and offers further growth potential for joint customers and suppliers. Dasico A/S holds a 50-percent share in Agrofert-Norden A/S, which is a joint venture with Agrofert-Holding, a leading Czech supplier to the chemical, agricultural and food industries.

Dasico A/S and Agrofert-Norden A/S have been serving the Scandinavian markets for decades and now enable DKSH to access the territories of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. In those markets, DKSH will be serving over 150 additional customers in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, agrochemical, and specialty chemical industries through its global sourcing network.

DKSH and Voltas Ltd., the Indian air conditioning and engineering services firm and member of the Tata Group, have agreed to the transfer of Voltas’ Chemicals Trading Division to DKSH India Pvt., Ltd.

With this acquisition, DKSH strengthens the position of its Performance Materials business unit in India at a time when its European and American clients are looking to this emerging market for growth in a declining global economy.
