LANGELSHEIM, Germany - Heubach GmbH announced the acquisition of certain assets of Bayer AG's Lightfast Pigment business, including manufacturing equipment and intellectual property. The purchase does not include a complex inorganic color pigment plant in Leverkusen, Germany.

Products include inorganic pigments such as titanate yellows, cobalt blues, cobalt greens and spinell blacks used in coatings and plastics.

Heubach, based in Langelsheim, Germany, said the purchase continues the company's emergence as a major global supplier of high-performance pigments. In one of a series of growth moves, Heubach last year assumed manufacturing of Avecia's automotive and high-performance organic pigments.
