WASHINGTON - Philip L. Pesola, executive vice president of Delta Laboratories, Inc., Ocala, Fla., received the Industry Achievement Award during the National Paint & Coatings Association's (NPCA) 2005 Annual Meeting in Cleveland, Oct. 23-25. The Industry Achievement Award is given in recognition of specific contributions to the paint and coatings industry.

Pesola has dutifully served as chair of NPCA's State Affairs Committee since 2001. It was during his term as the first chair of the Florida Paint Council, serving from January 1996 to June 1998, that the Florida Paint Council secured its greatest legislative achievement: the repeal of a state "solvent mixtures" tax, saving the industry some $5 million each year. Pesola also serves as the chair of the Florida Paint Council's Political Action Committee, which has been most effective in the state's political arena.
