FAIRLAWN, OH – Nick Triantafillopoulos, Director of OMNOVA Solutions’ Akron, OH, Technology Center, was presented with the 2008 Distinguished Award of Council by the Akron Council of Engineering and Scientific Societies (ACESS).

 

Triantafillopoulos received the award for his active promotion of education and careers in science and engineering, as well as his fundraising efforts for local schools and universities through his involvement as a trustee of the OMNOVA Solutions Foundation. The foundation establishes educational scholarships and grants for students from K-12 to college across all of OMNOVA’s plant and office communities. As a noted expert in the fields of paper and specialty chemistries, Triantafillopoulos holds four patents and has written a number of published technical papers on the subjects. This expertise, along with memberships in industry and scientific associations, and adjunct faculty positions at two collegiate engineering departments, has afforded him many opportunities to speak at colleges and universities across the globe, where he actively promotes the pursuit of careers in the fields of science and engineering.
