Wes Huff, Technical Service Manager at Southern Clay Products, gave a presentation on how the use of mixed mineral thixotropes (MMTs) can help with key properties, such as sag resistance and settling resistance while maintaining a reasonable package viscosity. He compared MMTs to various thixotrope technologies used in different types of industrial coatings, including high solid epoxies, low-HAPs systems, high solids alkyds, chain-stopped alkyds and zinc primers.
