ELKHART, IN - Vitracoat announced the opening of a new manufacturing facility located in Medellin, Columbia, which will start operations on June 6, 201l. With a total capacity of 5,000,000 pounds, the new plant will serve the Columbia and South American markets. The new 20,000-square-foot facility is equipped with the latest technology in powder coating processing and control equipment.
Last year, the company’s Lerma, Mexico plant added an additional five million pounds of production per year to the existing capacity. The total capacity of the Lerma plant now exceeds 35 million pounds per year. In October 2010, the U.S. headquarters of Vitracoat America Inc., in Elkhart, IN, doubled production capacity of custom colors.
