Evonik announced it will bundle infrastructure activities from its Marl and Wesseling chemical parks into a new company, SYNEQT GmbH, which will begin operations on January 1, 2026. With about 3,500 employees and €1.8 billion in annual revenue, SYNEQT will be one of Germany’s largest providers of industrial services for the chemical sector and other industries.
“By bringing our services specialists together in SYNEQT, the result is a powerful company with medium-sized structures and fast decision-making,” said Thomas Wessel, chief human resources officer and labor director at Evonik.
SYNEQT will operate as a 100 percent subsidiary of Evonik, with future options to bring in investors under consideration. The company’s expertise spans energy supply, pipeline construction and operation, plant management, technical services, logistics, fire brigades, waste disposal, and digital services. Its long-term strategy is to develop Marl and Wesseling into climate-neutral, digitally networked, and highly flexible industrial ecosystems.
This development reflects broader business strategies shaping the future of the chemical and coatings supply chain.
