NORMAN OK - Brewer Science® Inc. and SouthWest NanoTechnologies Inc. (SWeNT) have received a $6.5 million award under the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Technology Innovation Program (TIP). The funding is in support of research and development programs that focus upon methodologies to attain the cost-effective production of high-purity, high-quality metallic and semiconducting carbon nanotube (CNT) inks. These advancements will enable production of a wide variety of high-performing electronic devices incorporating CNTs.

 

SWeNT, a manufacturer of single-wall and specialty multi-wall CNTs, and Brewer Science, a producer of CNT inks for electronics applications, will team up to develop superior CNTs and improved inks on a commercial scale. These new products will support a wide variety of applications including high-performance optical devices, photovoltaic cells, batteries, supercapacitors, lighting products, flexible electronic devices and sensors.
