CLEVELAND — The Sherwin-Williams Co. completed the acquisition of Norfolk Paint Co., a chain of nine stores offering automotive-refinish and architectural coatings in Norfolk, VA, and Pulverlack Tintas S/A, a powder-coatings manufacturer in Brazil. Financial details were not disclosed.

Norfolk Paint’s architectural-coatings business and the chain of stores will become part of Sherwin-Williams’ Paint Stores Segment, while the automotive-refinish business will be transferred to the Automotive Segment, the company said. The Pulverlack Tintas acquisition continues Sherwin-Williams’ expansion in Brazil and gives the company a presence in the growing powder-coatings sector of the South America coatings market, the company said.

Pulverlack will operate as part of Sherwin-Williams’ wholly owned Brazilian subsidiary, Sherwin-Williams do Brasil Industria e Comercio Ltda. The acquired company’s products will continue to be sold through Pulverlack’s existing network and through Sherwin-Williams’ Sumare branch network. The acquisition “supports our commitment to the Brazilian market and will enable us to expand the Pulverlack and Sherwin-Williams brands and products in the South American market,” said Sherwin-Williams Chairman and CEO Christopher M. Connor.
