TAMAQUA, PA – Silberline has announced the acquisition of Yasida and Aesthetic Color-Tech (Jinan) Co., Ltd. from AArbor International Corp. The companies manufacture and sell aluminum pigments under the SILVERKING brand name.

“The Yasida SILVERKING product line is a highly regarded brand in China,” said Lisa Jane Scheller, CEO of Silberline. “This acquisition reinforces our long-standing commitment to providing the most comprehensive products and services to our customers in the Asian marketplace.”

Silberline will continue to market Yasida products in Asia. The SILVERKING product line will complement Silberline’s aluminum pigments, manufactured in facilities in North America, Scotland and Asia.

“Yasida has a unique set of competitive advantages over other local pigment companies,” said Michael Lowe, Managing Director, Silberline Asia Pacific. The company also holds a number of proprietary product formulations and processes.

China’s economy grew 11.4 percent (GDP) in 2007. Because demand for plastics, inks and coatings is strongly tied to general economic condition, the projected demand in China for Silberline and Yasida products remains strong. Recognizing the strength of the Asian markets, Silberline has invested in facilities and offices there. In 2005, Silberline opened a manufacturing, sales and technical center in Singapore. The company also has sales offices in Shanghai and India. In 2009, Silberline will open a technical service center in Suzhou, which will focus on coatings, plastics and inks.

Yasida formulates, manufacturers and sells aluminum pigments used in paints, coatings and inks to provide metallic effects and to protect metal and plastic substrates. The company sells its products through distributors in China and to a growing number of countries in Asia.
