MONHEIM, Germany – Cognis Corp.’s Roadranger Lubricants received the Environmental Excellence in Transportation Award from the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) at the recent SAE 2009 World Congress in Detroit. According to SAE, the award recognizes “significant innovations in reducing the environmental impact caused by the transportation industry.”
Cognis Corp. is the exclusive manufacturer and marketer of the Roadranger family of lubricant products, which consists of the SAE 50 synthetic transmission lubricant, the 80W-140 and 75W-90 synthetic gear oil/axle lubricants as well as the new FE 75W-90 axle fluid. “We are extremely proud of this achievement and the collaborative relationship built with Eaton, Dana and our OEM partners,” said Kevin Stein, Cognis Corp. Product Group Manager for Compounded Lubes & Esters.
Roadranger-approved synthetics are required in Eaton’s Fuller® transmissions and Dana’s Spicer® axles in order to qualify for extended warranty coverage and up to 500,000-mile initial drain approvals. The lubricants meet and exceed transmission specification, Eaton PS164 REV7, and axle specification, Dana SHAES 256 REV C, which were introduced to improve low- and high-temperature operation, and provide better protection against gear wear in high-horsepower, high-torque, high-speed and heavy-load applications. Roadranger Lubricants and authorized rebrands of the lubricants are also available globally.
