DONCASTER, England — The FLP Group has opened a new training center that will showcase its state-of-the-art facilities and highlight the benefits to customers within the automotive refinishing industry. The center is based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, and provides bespoke high-impact product training and testing on a full range of brands including Kapci Coatings, IMPA, Polimax, SpecialFX, and Final Systems including Ultimate Clearcoat. It features a Rowley Aero Eco Spray Booth.

Alongside the development, partnerships were forged with INDASA and Sagola by Elcometer to equip the center with high-quality industry facilities. The training center will use INDASA abrasive products on training days and for demonstrations. The INDASA team will also utilize the center and its facilities to host demonstrations and training within the local area. It is fully equipped with Sagola spray equipment for use during training and paint demonstrations.

At the opening, the FLP Group Senior Technician Gav Cunningham, along with representatives from the training center partners INDASA UK and Sagola, carried out a series of demonstrations and activities. The activities went through aspects of the vehicle repair process, including an INDASA fusor plastic repair, primer application, panel preparation, basecoat and clearcoat paint stage demonstrations using Sagola guns.

Lawrie Hoare, Managing Director at FLP Group, said, “The FLP Training Centre offers excellent opportunity for our customers, suppliers and partners. This investment will provide the ultimate experience for testing, demonstrating, training and showcasing our own brands as well as the products we are UK sole distributors for, like Kapci Coatings.

“We are pleased to have INDASA and Sagola by Elcometer as partners of our training centre. Working closely together will deliver an excellent package of expertise, supported by high quality equipment providing insights and solutions for our customers and bodyshops.

“We are so proud of the new FLP training centre and can’t wait to get started welcoming our customers in for bespoke demos and training.”

Paul Heal, UK Technical Manager at INDASA, said, “It can’t be stressed enough that in today’s dynamic bodyshop industry the implementation of best working practice is an essential component in driving efficiency and performance.

“The major investment in this new training facility demonstrates the commitment to the development of the customer’s skill base and the delivery of advanced application techniques in the refinishing process. INDASA views this partnership with FLP as the ideal opportunity to invest our know-how in the bodyshop workforce of the future.”

“As Elcometer look to grow the Sagola brand of spray equipment here in the UK we were excited to receive a request to support the new technical training centre for FLP Group at their headquarters in Doncaster. The new facility will showcase the products that both FLP and Elcometer as new owners of Sagola will supply to its UK distributors and end users alike. We were more than happy to cover their needs with Sagola’s premium quality spray equipment and look forward to developing a long lasting partnership with our refinish colleagues,” said Mark Vickery, Automotive Account Manager UK & Ireland at Elcometer.
