SACRAMENTO - The California Air Resources Board (CARB) issued a notice that new, statewide VOC limits for several consumer products, including certain adhesives and aerosol coatings, were scheduled to go into effect on Jan. 1.

The products include aerosol adhesives, for which the new VOC limit is 55-75%, and aerosol undercoatings, with a VOC limit of 40%. The regulations allows products manufactured between Jan. 1, 2001, and Jan. 1, 2002, to be sold for up to three years after the Jan. 1, 2002, effective date. Those products must display the date of manufacture or carry a code indicating the manufacture date, CARB said.
