McWhorter Technologies Inc., Carpentersville, IL, said a new resins pilot-plant facility is scheduled to begin operation late this month at the company’s headquarters site. The 5,000-square-foot, $4-million facility centralizes the company’s pilot-plant operations and will allow more rapid commercialization of products, the company said. Those products include powder resins, emulsion polymers, alkyd resins, polyester resins, solution acrylics, and others. McWhorter was recently acquired by Eastman Chemical Co.
