FAIRLAWN, OH -- OMNOVA Solutions announced that union employees at its Mogadore, OH, facility, represented by the International Chemical Workers Council and its Local 419-C of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, have ratified a new contract with the company. The contract covers approximately 56 bargaining unit members and extends for three years through May 31, 2012. OMNOVA employs about 106 total employees at the Mogadore plant.
 
"We commend the union for their desire to continue to work together to make critical improvements that will enhance the plant's long-term competitive position under what remain very challenging economic conditions," said Kevin McMullen, OMNOVA Solutions' Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "This contract continues to provide an excellent wage and benefit package for our hourly employees while enabling positive changes to increase the flexibility of the workforce in order to drive further improvements in productivity, quality and customer satisfaction."
 
OMNOVA Solutions' Mogadore, OH, plant is part of the company's Performance Chemicals business segment. Products manufactured at Mogadore - the largest specialty latex plant in North America - are used as binders and adhesives for a wide variety of applications, including paper coatings, carpet backing, nonwovens and construction infrastructure.
