LEVALLOIS, France - The specialty chemical group Protex International has completed the acquisition of the chemical company Mace Polymers & Additives. Founded in 1965, Mace Polymers & Additives is located in Dudley, MA. The company manufactures water-based and solvent-based polyurethanes used in applications that include paint, adhesives, erasable inks and wood finishing products.
 
“The acquisition of Mace Polymers & Additives strengthens our presence in the U.S. Moreover, with Mace Polymers & Additives we broaden our existing product portfolio, our service and our know-how in the polyurethane market, as their technology is different from ours. Through our European and Asian network of subsidiaries, we will also offer new outlets to Mace products," said Protex International CEO Robert Moor.
 
Protex International operates its network of 20 subsidiaries in Europe, the United States and Asia. Established in 1932, the company serves a wide variety of markets, such as paint, textile, electronics, perfumery, paper, water treatment, fine chemicals and the food industry.
