CHICAGO – On Feb. 7, 2011, Sherwin-Williams hosted a career day event for Chicago State University (CSU) science students. The day-long event allowed CSU science students to learn, in detail, about the academic requirements of various chemistry-based careers with the 144-year-old paint and coatings company and its chemical suppliers. During the event, young science majors learned first-hand about career requirements, responsibilities and local and global opportunities. The event included a rare tour of the technical coatings laboratory in Sherwin-Williams’ historic facility. Sherwin-Williams has continuously operated at its South Chicago site since 1888.

Sherwin-William cosponsored the event with chemical suppliers TH Hilson Co., Cabot Corp. and the Department of Chemistry and Physics of Chicago State University.
