Since the development of the first temperature control system, Mokon's family of water systems has grown into multiple different styles and more than 100 different configurations of heating and flow capacities. Mokon celebrates 50 years in business this year.
Mokon, Buffalo, N.Y., a designer and manufacturer of circulating liquid temperature control systems, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Production engineers at Caplugs (Protective Closures Co. at the time) developed Mokon's original water temperature control system in 1955. As a plastic processor of proprietary product protection devices such as caps and plugs, Caplugs needed to develop a compact, safe and efficient means of maintaining control over the temperature of the molds on their fast-cycle injection molding machines. Mokon's water system became a solution for many industries looking to control the temperature of machines during various processes. Since the development of the first temperature control system, Mokon's family of water systems has grown into multiple different styles and over 100 different configurations of heating and flow capacities.

Not long after the original temperature control system was designed, Mokon developed the first oil system for higher temperature applications. In the early 1990s, Mokon introduced its family of air- and water-cooled portable chillers including the Full Range System. It is still unique today in that it features a combination chiller and water temperature control system within the same unit. Today, the company offers circulating water and heat transfer fluid systems, portable and central chillers, pump tanks, cooling towers and maintenance products in a range of models to meet virtually any thermal processing need.

Since its beginning, Mokon has grown not only its product line, but also its global reach. While all systems continue to be manufactured in Buffalo,

N.Y., more than 50,000 systems have been sold throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. A majority of those systems sold have been customized to meet the specific needs of an application. For more information, contact Mokon at 716-876-9951 or visit www.mokon.com.
