Columbia Chemical will be opening the doors to a new headquarters and a new location in 2008. Ground was broken in August on a nearby four-acre land parcel in Brunswick, OH, and construction has begun on a new 44,000 square-foot building. The total project cost will exceed $4 million and will double Columbia’s current space. One-third of the building is designated for offices and labs; the remaining two-thirds is reserved for manufacturing and warehousing.

“Our company needs the extra space to handle increasing demand for proprietary chemicals for the zinc plating industry,” said Columbia President Bill Rosenberg.

Columbia Chemical employs 38 people, but Rosenberg expects to expand its staff to 50 if sales continue to grow at the current pace by the time Columbia moves to its new building next March.
