BALTIMORE — Terra Firma announced an expansion into the Midwest and Ohio Valley and an important addition to its leadership team.

The company will begin coverage of the new areas during the second quarter of 2019, with plans to locate initial sales offices in Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky. The enhanced coverage is tied to several of the company’s supply partners seeking assistance in this important market.

Joining the Terra Firma team is Kevin Trainor, who will serve as company's VP of Sales and will help guide the Ohio Valley efforts. He brings with him over 32 years of experience, having held several positions of increasing responsibility at Ciba before going to work for The M.F. Cachat Co., where he was Northeast Regional Sales Manager and Business Development Manager.

“We have always moved slowly and carefully when it comes to geographical expansion. Our 2017 decision to expand into the Northeast and Southwest seemed well timed, given the tremendous market consolidation taking place. Our partnership team sensed a great opportunity to become a company that was large enough to thrive, yet small enough to make certain each principal partner matters to us. Our smaller portfolio of products provides our valued suppliers the leverage they deserve with our highly trained sales force, which in turn drives their company’s unique organic growth objectives,” said David Behan, the company’s CEO.

Terra Firma is a super-multi-regional specialty chemicals distributor offering stability to chemical suppliers and customers through 12 distribution centers. The company covers a wide array of chemical markets that includes the CASE market.
