PITTSBURGH — PPG Industries Inc. said J. Rich Alexander has been named general manager of Global Industrial Coatings in a swap of management assignments with Bernard Ouimette, who was appointed general manager of Fiber Glass Reinforcements. PPG said the moves reflect a company program to strengthen its operations by broadening the experience of its managers.
Alexander joined PPG in 1978 as a fiber glass market research analyst, and also has held sales and management positions in the company’s fiber glass business. He was most recently general manager of Fiber Glass Reinforcements.
Oimette joined PPG in 1985 as a management trainee. He has held the positions of market manager for Packaging Coatings, Europe; director, General Industrial Coatings for the United States; and general manager, Industrial Coatings, Europe. He was named general manager of Global Industrial Coatings in 1998.
