DOW Raises Price of VAM
The Dow Chemical Co. (Dow) has announced that, effective July 1, 2008, or as individual contract terms allow, it will raise the price of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) in all regions of the world.
VAM prices will increase by U.S. $0.02 per pound in North America and by U.S. $40 per metric ton in all other regions of the world. This is in addition to the U.S. $0.04 per pound (U.S. $90 per metric ton) increase announced by Dow on June 2, 2008.
