MINNEAPOLIS – The American Filtration and Separations Society will hold its 22nd Annual Technical Conference & Exhibition on May 4-7, 2009, at the Sheraton Hotel in Bloomington, MN.
 
The conference will kick off with 12 short courses being offered. These courses include: Fundamentals of Liquid Filtration, Fundamentals of Air/Gas Filtration, Basics & Applications of Particle Characterization, Microfiltration Membranes, Ultrafiltration Membranes, Gas Solid Separation with Fabric Filters, Gas Solid Separation with Cyclones, Nonwoven Air Filtration, Electrostatic Charging and Electrets for Air Filter Media, Wastewater Treatment/Sludge Dewatering, Liquid Filtration Testing Basics, and Advanced Engine Filtration.
 
The technical sessions begin on May 5. Keynote speakers include, David Pui of the University of Minnesota, Steve Tarleton of the University of Loughborough, Gerhard Kasper of the Universitat Karlsruhe, Debra Wilfong of Donaldson Co., and John Peichel of GE-Osmonics.
 
In addition to the technical sessions, tours are planned for Donaldson Co., TSI Inc., GE-Osmonics and the Particle Technology Laboratory at the University of Minnesota.
 
The conference offers companies the opportunity to promote their products and services through conference sponsorships and tabletop exhibits. This conference will be the largest gathering of filtration and separation experts in North America in 2009.
