The Dow Chemical Co. announced recently that it will increase the off-schedule price for glacial acrylic acid, butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, methyl acrylate and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, also known as acrylic monomers or acrylates, effective April 1, 2009, or as contracts allow. This increase is in addition to the March 1, 2009, North American increase of 5 cents per pound on the same products listed above.

 

In Europe, glacial acrylic acid, butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, methyl acrylate and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate will increase by EUR 85 per metric ton. In the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the Pacific, glacial acrylic acid, butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, methyl acrylate and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate will increase by U.S. $110 per metric ton.
