The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) has named Mike O’Donoghue, Director of Engineering and Technical Services at Devoe High Performance Coatings/International Paint LLC Canada, as one of the protective coating industry’s top 25 leaders and thinkers of the past 25 years.

HOUSTON – The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) has named Mike O’Donoghue, Director of Engineering and Technical Services at Devoe High Performance Coatings/International Paint LLC Canada, as one of the protective coating industry’s top 25 leaders and thinkers of the past 25 years. O’Donoghue was recognized for his contributions in advancing industry knowledge in the 25th Anniversary edition of Journal of Protective Coatings & Linings last August.
 
O’Donoghue is a 27-year veteran of the protective coatings industry and has authored more than 50 research papers and articles for both marine and industrial publications on topics that include: Protecting Tanks and Pipes; Testing and Performance of Coatings for Concrete; Linings and Leak Detection for Storage Tanks; Chemical Strippers and Surface-Tolerant Coatings; Anti-slip Coatings for Structural Steel; Unravelling Coating Failures on Tanks and Bridges; and his most recent article entitled, VOC’s and Protective Coating Advances.
 
As Director of Engineering and Technical Services, O’Donoghue is responsible for developing and supporting new technologies and products that provide customer-driven solutions. Among his most significant technological accomplishments during the last decade is his innovative and collaborative work in the development of anti-slip coatings for structural steel and internal secondary containment for above-ground storage tanks using unique epoxy technology.
