HONG KONG - Clariant has formally opened a surfactants production facility in Zhenjiang, eastern China. The plant, which is fully operational, has been designed to meet China’s growing demand for surfactants from various sectors such as personal care, paint and coatings, and metalworking industries.

The new 50,000-square-meter facility has a capacity of more than 22,000 tones per annum. The plant includes the very latest environmental technology. Zhenjiang will serve China’s domestic customers in personal care, paint and coatings, and metalworking industries. Other products available at the plant will include chemicals for the textile, oil, mining and homecare segments.

Zhenjiang is strategically located on the Yangtze River between Nanjing and Shanghai, within reach of Clariant’s key customers in the region. This facility will complement the company’s already well-established manufacturing capabilities in the country.
