The Metropolitan New York Paints and Coatings Association (MNYPCA) presented its President’s Achievement Award to Robert Whiteley at its annual meeting on June 1.

NEW YORK, NY - The Metropolitan New York Paints and Coatings Association (MNYPCA) presented its President’s Achievement Award to Robert Whiteley at its annual meeting on June 1. The President’s Achievement Award recognizes an individual member who has made outstanding contributions and shown dedication to the association.

A primary function of MNYPCA is to keep its members informed and up to date on industry trends and technology. Recently, the association presented two important seminars, which were both spearheaded by Whiteley. One was on green chemistry and the other on sustainability.

Whiteley has served on the Board of the Metropolitan New York Paint and Coatings Association for the past eight years. Some of his achievements include chairing the Green Technology and Sustainability Now seminars, leading the strategic planning sessions of MNYPCA, serving on the Awards committee, and holding the offices of Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President and President of the MNYPCA.

Whiteley is Vice President of Marketing and Sales at JNS-Smithchem, a regional sales and distribution company in Paterson, NJ. With over 25 years in the industry, he has held executive positions with such companies as Engelhard/BASF, Munzing and Pan Technology.
