HAMPTON, UK - PRA is offering a number of training courses for 2010, including the new Paint & Coatings Basics course. PRA is has also scheduled training courses on Waterborne Coatings, Radiation Curing Technology, Paint Technology, Powder Coating Technology and Professional Paint Formulation. Courses are being held at the PRA Coatings Technology Centre, Hampton, UK.
 
The new Paint & Coatings Basics course will be offered April 27, 2010. The course is designed for anyone who is either a newcomer to a paint-related field or does not have a scientific background. It will be particularly useful to sales and marketing personnel.
 
Paint Technology will be offered May 24-27, 2010, and November 15-18, 2010. Designed for newcomers to the industry who need a firm foundation in the technology of surface coatings, the course offers comprehensive and intensive four-day instruction that contains an overview of the raw materials used in surface coatings and their contribution to the final properties of the coatings.
 
Principles of Waterborne Coatings will be offered May 11-12, 2010. Designed to appeal to a wide cross section of interests, the course provides an in-depth overview of the special features that distinguish waterborne technology from other generic types such as solvent borne and high solids.
 
Radiation Curing Technology will be offered May 17-19, 2010, and Oct. 4-6, 2010. The course is designed for both newcomers and more experienced personnel, from companies involved in formulation, supplying raw materials, equipment manufacture and end use. It is an intensive course that provides a firm foundation in the chemistry, principles and applications of UV and EB technologies.
 
The Powder Coating Technology course will be offered June 15-16, 2010. The course is designed for those responsible for the introduction and use of coating powders and for those who on a day-to-day basis wish to apply them effectively and efficiently. It includes an insight into the formulation and manufacture of coating powders, both thermoplastic and thermosetting.
 
Professional Paint Formulation will be offered Sept. 28-29. The course is designed for suppliers of raw materials, formulators and production personnel. It provides an overview of the many factors involved in developing commercial formulations.
