The DuraShield Cartridge Filter from AAF International is engineered for energy-efficient, continuous operation in harsh industrial environments. The DuraShield Media used in the DuraShield Cartridge Filter is a proprietary high-strength, polyester reinforced media with a fluorocarbon meltblown outer surface layer that allows the filter to achieve a minimum efficiency reporting value (MERV) of 15 for this type of cartridge filter. The AAF Research and Development Group designed DuraShield as a surface-loading media, which achieves optimum particulate release during pulse cleaning. According to the company, synthetic fibers used throughout the media will not disintegrate, unlike some surface-bonded media, and it can withstand the rigors of repeated pulse cleaning cycles. These features are combined with a low initial pressure drop and high moisture resistance.
