BETHESDA, MD – The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) supported the 2012 Adhesion Society Outstanding Young Adhesion Scientist Award and presented a plaque and $1,000 grant to Frank DelRio, PhD, this year’s award recipient. DelRio is a scientist at the Material Measurement Laboratory within the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD.
Presented during the Adhesion Society’s Annual Meeting, the award recognizes emerging research talent that focuses on properties of adhesion. DelRio has studied a variety of adhesive research issues and has published a number of papers between 2005 and 2011. He continues his focus on adhesives, committing time and energy on investigating ways to minimize adhesives failures with emerging micro- and nano-scale systems in both dry and wet environments.
