TROY, MI - In response to the article “Final Consultation Concludes on Post-Consumer Paint Recycling Program in Ontario” that appeared in last week’s Insider News, Waste Diversion Ontario (WDO) asked to clarify the status of the Industry Stewardship Plan (ISP) for paints and coatings submitted to WDO by Product Care Association (PCA). In the ISP, PCA sets out its plan to operate an approved recycling program in Ontario, Canada, for the paints and coatings category of the Municipal Hazardous or Special Waste (MHSW) Program.

Consultations continue on this ISP. WDO will shortly provide stakeholders with advance notice of the last date to submit any further or final feedback on the ISP.

The WDO Board of Directors will consider the paints and coatings ISP once the consultations and staff evaluation have both been completed. They will continue to update stakeholders on important dates, including when they receive and post PCA’s final ISP.

For updates on this ISP and all other ISPs received by WDO to date, visit the ISP page on WDO’s website at http://wdo.ca/programs/industry-stewardship-plans/.
