The company’s performance summary includes revenue of US$4B, an increase of 3% quarter-over-quarter, and a decline of 9% year-over-year.

AkzoNobel CEO, Greg Poux-Guillaume, commented, “In the first quarter of 2023, our key markets proved to be resilient despite unfavorable macroeconomic conditions.”

The quarter posted record net sales. Tim Knavish, PPG President and Chief Executive Officer, commented that “improving results are despite macroeconomic conditions that remain challenging and reflect the strengths of our diverse business portfolio.”

Record third-quarter net sales of $1.52 billion increased 5.7% over the prior year.

In 2022, Hempel emphasized its focus on improving earnings by reducing costs to compensate for rising raw material costs and lower volumes.

After a challenging year 2022, Evonik says it is cautiously optimistic for 2023.

The company has reported its financial results for the full-year 2022. Despite lower sales volumes as a consequence of the recessionary environment, Covestro’s group sales grew by 13% to €18.0 billion.
