X-Rite has introduced the Judge LED light booth, a new tool designed to help brands, manufacturers and suppliers accurately assess and evaluate color under standard LED light sources. The light booth is specifically designed to align with new government regulations and the global shift toward more efficient and sustainable lighting solutions.

The Judge LED light booth is part of X-Rite’s broader effort to support the transition from fluorescent to LED lighting. The company has been a leader in lighting innovation for over 60 years, and the new light booth is the latest example of its commitment to helping brands and suppliers maintain color accuracy and consistency.

The global shift to LED lighting is being driven by a combination of energy efficiency mandates and governmental regulations. However, this shift presents a new challenge for industries that depend on color accuracy, such as textiles, automotive, paint and coatings, plastics and packaging. Fluorescent and LED illuminants have distinct spectral power distributions (SPD) that can dramatically impact color perception. To address this challenge, the Judge LED light booth is designed to enable precise visual color evaluation under standard LED light sources.

“The Judge LED light booth is a future-proof solution for brands and manufacturers transitioning from fluorescent lighting to comply with new energy regulations,” said Albert S Laforet, Director of Strategic Projects at X-Rite. “Our custom-designed LEDs are optimized to offer the best SPD match for legacy fluorescent tubes, including U30, U35, CWF and TL84, ensuring a seamless integration into color workflows. This allows companies to meet regulatory requirements, ensure color consistency and prevent color discrepancies before final product assembly.”

The Judge LED light booth is now available worldwide.
