ACC, OSHA Renew Safety Collaboration

The American Chemistry Council and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration signed an Ambassador Alliance Agreement, reaffirming their commitment to advancing workplace safety and health.
ACC’s Center for the Polyurethanes Industry and the Diisocyanates and Aliphatic Diisocyanates panels have supported the alliance by raising awareness of OSHA rulemaking and enforcement initiatives, delivering training for employers, workers and OSHA officials, and expanding outreach efforts.
“When we signed our initial agreement with OSHA nine years ago, we made a clear commitment to work collaboratively to strengthen worker health and safety across the polyurethanes value chain,” said Jason Sloan.
“This Ambassadorship reflects meaningful progress, expanding access to training and technical resources for employers, workers and occupational health professionals. We’re proud to continue partnering with OSHA to help promote safe handling and build a stronger safety culture industrywide.”
The alliance has produced guidance documents for employers and employees and has supported initiatives including fall protection and hazard communication.
“For the diisocyanates industry, this partnership has been an opportunity to share insights from the field and turn them into helpful resources for employers and workers,” said Erin Dickison. “We look forward to continuing this engagement with OSHA and contributing to efforts to make continuous safety improvements.”
ACC and OSHA first established the alliance in 2017 as a two-year commitment, later renewing it in 2020 for five years. The ambassadorship will remain in effect as long as both organizations continue working cooperatively.
