Everest Systems Addresses MEKO Concerns With Silicone Roof Coating Technology

Everest Systems highlighted its Silkoxy silicone roof-coating technology as a MEKO-free option for commercial roof-restoration projects.
The Houston-based company said Silkoxy uses alkoxy-based silicone chemistry rather than oxime-cure technology. According to Everest, oxime-cure silicone roof coatings can release methyl ethyl ketoxime, or MEKO, during cure. Everest said its alkoxy-based formulations are designed to avoid that byproduct while providing adhesion to a range of roofing substrates.
Everest offers Silkoxy within its broader commercial roofing portfolio, which includes acrylic, silicone, PVDF, polyurea and spray polyurethane foam systems, as well as primers, sealants and repair products.
“Silkoxy brand, using alkoxy technology, reflects Everest’s proactive approach to regulatory compliance,” said John Linnell, CEO of Everest Systems.
Everest said the technology is intended for contractors, facility managers and building owners seeking silicone roof-coating options that address evolving health and regulatory concerns.
