WASHINGTON -- The NPCA announced that its comprehensive industry market study, “U.S. Paint & Coatings Analysis (2002-2007),” is scheduled for publication in October. The report, a single-volume source of marketing, economic and technical information about the industry, is being offered at an early-bird rate of $995 for NPCA member companies that reserve a copy before Oct. 31.

Developed by Orr & Boss Inc., a consulting firm specializing in the paint and coatings industry, the market study is described as “the definitive coatings-industry information resource.” The study will include recent U.S. Census Bureau figures on shipments of coatings, profiles of market segments, in-depth discussions of the fundamental drivers of the market, and projected growth rates for market segments and forecasts through 2007, the NPCA said.

The report will provide increased focus on market demand issues, such as key buying factors for all segments based on actual customer interviews, technologies used and specific market share information. Special chapters will focus on the challenges and opportunities for small and mid-sized paint companies, as well as the impact and direction of e-business as it relates to raw-material suppliers, coatings companies, intermediaries and the interaction among the three. Other chapters examine in detail the architectural, OEM and special-purpose coatings markets.

The regular member price for CD-ROM and hard-copy formats is $1,195, with each additional copy selling for $485. The non-member price is $3,495. An order form is available online at the website located at www.paint.org/market/market_analysis.htm. Order forms can also be requested by mail or fax from the NPCA.
