Rodney Biddle has joined Reichhold Inc. as a senior advisor for the North American coatings market. Biddle formerly held a variety of positions during a 35-year career with Reichhold before he retired in 2002, including vice president of sales and marketing for North American Coatings and Mid-Market Coatings Business Team leader.

David Butterfield has joined Michelman Inc.'s Performance Coatings Division as Market specialist for corrugated packaging. Butterfield was formerly Purchasing manager for A. Duda and Sons, a major produce company, where his responsibilities included procurement of coatings for packaging.

Michael C. Johnson has joined Palmer Holland Inc. as Account manager. Johnson formerly held management positions at Bayer Corp., in businesses involved in coatings, construction materials, inorganic pigments and silicones.

LANSCO Colors announced that Frank Livieri will join the company as executive vice president and general manager. Livieri has held research, product-safety and marketing positions with Hoechst/Clariant, and was formerly vice president of Sales and Marketing for European Color. LANSCO also announced that Vice President of Sales and Marketing Rick Campbell will leave the company to pursue new career opportunities.

EMD Chemicals Inc. named Francois Marchio vice president of the company's Pigments Division, with responsibility for the division's Automotive, Industrial and other product lines in North America. Marchio was formerly director of EMD Chemicals' Rona Cosmetic Business Unit.

Chemline Inc., St. Louis, has named Frank McCracken controller and Operations manager, with responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the company's manufacturing operations. McCracken has held positions with several companies, including Price Waterhouse, Oracle and General Dynamics.

Tiffany Oakley has joined Silberline Manufacturing Co. Inc. as Market Communications manager. Oakley was formerly a Marketing manager with Epichem Inc., Allentown, PA.

Rohm and Haas Co. named Gary O'Brien director, Investor Relations. He succeeds Mike Hamilton, who was named director, Asia-Pacific, for the company's Performance Chemicals and Adhesives and Sealants businesses. O'Brien joined Rohm and Haas more than 20 years ago, and has held a number of domestic and international positions in finance and business organizations.

Micromeritics Instrument Corp. has named Greg Thiele, a senior Sales engineer with the company for more than nine years, to the position of Business manager of the company's newly launched Micromeritics Analytical Services business unit. The company said the new business unit will focus on support and service related to particle-characterization instrumentation.

Casey Wegner joined National Coatings Corp. as Lab assistant, and Missy DeLaTorre joined the company as Customer Service/Business Development manager.

Degussa's Coatings & Colorants Business Unit named Martin Welp managing director of Degussa Colortrend B.V. He assumes responsibility for Colorants Business Line activities in the European and Middle East region, and succeeds Christian Kather, who was named to head Degussa's Business Line Perfomance Resins. Degussa also named John Kennedy Global Key Account director for the Coatings & Colorants Business Unit, based at Degussa Corp. headquarters in Parsippany, NJ. Kennedy was succeeded as Marketing director for Colorants Business Line activities in the European and Middle East region by Gino Kuijpers, formerly Marketing manager for Degussa Colortrend's Colorants Business Line.

W. Peter Woodward, Kerr-McGee Corp. senior vice president responsible for Chemicals, announced his retirement, effective Sept. 17. He is succeeded by Tom Adams, vice president and general manager of Kerr-McGee Chemicals L.L.C.'s Pigment Division, who will serve as interim head of the company's chemicals businesses. Woodward joined Kerr-McGee in 1972 and held a series of sales and marketing management positions before being named to head the chemicals business in 1997. Adams joined Kerr-McGee more than 20 years ago. He has held a series of management and executive positions, and was named vice president and general manager of the Pigment Division in May of this year.
