CHEVY CHASE, MD - The development of UV-cure technology for automotive-refinish processes will be showcased during a special technical session planned for RadTech International North America's "e|5 2004" conference and exhibition, scheduled for May 3-5 in Charlotte, NC.

RadTech International also has issued the technical-conference program for the biennial event, formerly known as the RadTech conference and exhibition. The conference will feature the presentation of more than 100 papers in sessions focusing on a variety of topics, the organization said.

The session on automotive-refinish applications will include discussions by Ford Motor Co. on the use of UV technology for automotive repair, and by Foreign Auto Port Service on UV processes for the cosmetic repair and refinish of high-end vehicles at ports of entry.

A UV/EB "Automotive Dealership" will serve as the centerpiece of the exhibit floor as part of the event's demonstration of current UV/EB uses. The dealership exhibit will feature vehicles and auto parts manufactured using UV/EB technologies and a body shop demonstrating UV technology for collision repair and refinish operations.

Other conference sessions will address chemistry, equipment, adhesives, measurement and analysis, graphic arts, photoinitiators, cationic chemistry, formulation, raw materials, industrial applications, waterborne formulations, and an international market overview. Also scheduled is a poster session.
