Rohm and Haas Co., Philadelphia, said its Electronic Materials Business Group has formed a new division that will focus on the electronic and industrial-finishing markets. The Shipley Ronal Electronic and Industrial Finishing Division will concentrate on the semiconductor-packaging, electronic-component and connector segments of the electronics industry, and on the industrial metal finishing market, the company said. The division combines the metal-plating and finishing technologies of Rohm and Haas’ Shipley Co. unit with new capabilities added as a result of the recent LeaRonal and Morton International acquisitions. The new division is based in Freeport, NY, and will have estimated annual revenue of $175 million in 2000, the company said.
