Joseph F. Indihar Helped Pioneer Auto Clearcoats

RICHMOND, Va. - Joseph F. Indihar, age 62, died November 1, 2005. Mr. Indihar began his career at Celanese Corp. in Detroit, where, as a research chemist, he was instrumental in the development of the first basecoat/clearcoats for automotive coatings. His knowledge and love of his work also brought about the development of epoxy/acrylic primers along with high solids for automotive primers. His expertise led him to work for the O'Brien Corp., Mansfield Paint Co., D&L Paint Co., Diamond Vogel Co. and Savers Systems Co. After retirement, he acted as a consultant in the paint field.

CHEMCENTRAL's Jon D. Stanley Passes Away

MEDINA, Wash. - Jon D. Stanley, age 64, died February 13, 2006, of non-specific lymphoma. Mr. Stanley spent his career in the chemical industry, working for companies including Unocal/76, Great Western Chemical, Pacific Coast Chemical, Letica and most recently CHEMCENTRAL. He was an active member of the Puget Sound Paint and Coatings Association and the Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology.
